Is there any correlation between your financial background and your job perofmance?
I'm wanting to become a police officer, however, my credit isn't good. In fact I'm probably in debt by about 20k. I was told that they will eliminate you based on your credit history, but is there really a correalation between job performance and your actual FICO score? I personally believe thats a myth, but why do they take that into consideration?
Answer
Oh guy, you'll be in the gravy if you go for a cop job! In Connecticut you'll make in the low 50s upon graduating from the police academy, get three weeks vacation, all holidays, meal allowances, and all the overtime you want (at time-and a half's pay!)
And no, they do not check your credit rating before you're hired. Don't worry about intelligence tests, etc. A lawsuit in the state, years ago revealed that applicants who are too smart and score too high do not get hired.

So maybe you have to continue clicking away (for the intellectual challenge).
